Pal ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Name, email address, and username (provided during sign-up)
• Apple ID identifier (when using Sign in with Apple)
• Profile photo (if you choose to add one)

User Content

• Photos and videos you share in posts
• Text content in posts and comments

Usage Data

• Connections you make with other users
• Likes and comments on posts
• Device token for push notifications

Nearby Discovery

• Pal uses Bluetooth and local networking to discover other Pal users near you. This data is processed locally on your device and is not sent to our servers. No location data is collected or stored.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and maintain your account
• To display your posts, profile, and connections to other users
• To send push notifications about likes, comments, and new connections
• To enable nearby discovery of other users

We do not use your information for advertising, analytics profiling, or any purpose other than providing the Pal service.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase services (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Storage). Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data is only visible to:

• Other Pal users (your public profile and posts)
• Firebase/Google (as our infrastructure provider, subject to their privacy policies)

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data through your profile
• Edit your profile information at any time
• Delete your account and all associated data (Profile → Menu → Delete Account)

Upon account deletion, your data is permanently removed from our systems.

6. Children's Privacy

Pal is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the data immediately.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
